What inspired you to become an oral surgeon?
I learned about the specialty by shadowing partners in my practice while attending college. I liked the varied procedures and the ability to provide such a positive impact for patients.
What do you enjoy most about being an oral surgeon?
The ability to treat patients of all ages with vastly different needs while providing best of care.
What do you enjoy most about being part of OMSNashville’s team?
Being in a group practice especially one of this size gives me so many resources to discuss cases with my partners. OMSNashville has state of the art equipment and highly trained and caring staff members, which ultimately, provides the best available care to my patients.
What is your top piece of advice for patients?
Be prepared for your consultation day by knowing your health, your medication list, and your allergies. Take plenty of notes and never be afraid to ask good questions.
What is one fact that most people don’t know about you?
While in dental school, I was a taste tester for YUM brands KFC. I am most likely the primary reason the KFC Twister is a menu favorite!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Spending time with my family and traveling to new places. I have a treasured group of friends who enjoy golf as much as I do. We especially like taking on top 100 golf courses throughout the country. The courses usually win.
What organizations, non-profits or community groups are you involved with?
Interfaith Dental Clinic, Brentwood Baptist Medical Dental Unit.
If you were not an oral surgeon, what other profession would you have chosen?
I liked other surgical specialties – orthopedics primarily. I’ve always loved being able to work with my hands and use innovative products. Architecture and construction also appeal to me because of the ability to create using similar technologies – CAD Cam, 3-D imaging, etc.
