Get to know Dr. Andy Wicke
How long have you been an oral surgeon?
I graduated from Vanderbilt’s OMFS program in June of 2017.
What inspired you to become an oral surgeon?
Seeing the generosity and enjoyment that the doctors at OMS Nashville expressed about their careers.
What do you enjoy most about being an oral surgeon?
I love being able to help people get out of pain and into better health.
What do you enjoy most about being part of OMSNashville’s team?
The team environment! It is so fun working with such a big group of hard working, fun and caring individuals.
What is your top piece of advice for patients?
Dentistry and oral surgery have changed a lot over the years and it is almost always a better experience than people anticipate it will be.
What is one fact that most people don’t know about you?
I am on a video game with my brother, Danny. (March Madness 2k7)
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love spending time with my wife, Emily, and my kids, Eden (5) and Everett (2). I love to fly fish, travel, exercise, play golf and cook.
What organizations, non-profits or community groups are you involved with?
I am involved with Interfaith Dental, Nashville Dental Society, TN Dental Society, Remote Area Medical, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and my church (CPC).
If you were not an oral surgeon, what other profession would you have chosen?
Since I couldn’t make it to the NBA, I probably would have tried to become a professional fly fishing guide or gotten into custom home construction.
