Dr. Courtney Anderson is a native of Minnesota. She majored in Microbiology and Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota and then continued with her dental education there as well. She was the recipient of a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Air Force. After she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery training, she was commissioned into the United States Air Force. Following an assignment at the United States Air Force Academy, she was selected into the rigorous Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB, TX (at the time, only the 2nd female in the history of the program to be selected). She served as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in England and was on residency training staff at David Grant Medical Center and was involved in the training of our own Dr. Cone. During her 10 years of military service, she was the recipient of many military awards and accolades including United States Air Force Europe Clinical Dentist of the Year, Field Grade Officer of the Year 48th Dental Squadron, Air Force Commendation Medal and Air Force Meritorious Service Medal.
After practicing in Minnesota and Wisconsin for the past 12 years, her and her family came to Nashville in search of warmer weather and southern hospitality. They were drawn to OMSNashville for the collegial environment and how everyone from the patients to the staff are treated as family. She enjoys the variety of procedures that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers, especially pathology, implants and dentoalveolar surgery (extractions and bone grafting). Dr. Anderson is board certified and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Outside of the office she enjoys volunteering, SCUBA diving, experimenting in the kitchen, spending time with her family and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. She lives in Green Hills with her husband (Aaron), daughter (Elsa) and two sons (Chet and Soren).
